Gortemoller Engineering, Inc. served as the Prime Design Firm providing professional engineering services for the 0.55-mile new sidewalk along the east side of Alf Coleman Road. The project included drainage improvements, including storm drain and drainage ditch construction, earthwork embankment construction, driveway reconstruction for ADA compliant crossings, sign and pavement markings, and the relocation of existing utility fixtures for the City of Panama City Beach. Coordination with utilities and Arnold High School during the design was performed to minimize potential impacts to the utilities and school. The sidewalk provides a facility for pedestrians where prior students would walk in the roadway. This project has increased pedestrian safety within the school zone area.
GE also provided Construction Engineering & Inspection services for this project. This included shop drawing reviews, site inspections, construction management assistance and pay application progress confirmation review.
