Gortemoller Engineering, Inc. provided professional engineering services for the Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Plan Project in Bay County, Florida. GE provided single lane roundabout, lighting, signalization, and interconnect system (ITS) designs. The 170' diameter single lane roundabout design is located at the intersection of Front Beach Road and SR 79 in Panama City Beach, FL. This is the first roundabout at a major intersection in Panama City Beach.

The lighting design encompassed intersection and roadway lighting for the entire project. The signalization design included traffic signal timing, the upgrade of the signals at SR 79, Pier Park Drive, Hills Road, and the design of a new signal at Powell Adams Road. The ITS design included the placement of fiber optic cable through the project, and the placement of ITS devices at all intersections that were not previously connected.

There was coordination with FDOT, pedestrian and bicycle accommodation design, and pedestrian safety improvements. The project also included coordination and assistance for the development of the City of Panama City Beach's midblock crosswalk standards which included RRFB's, advanced warning signage, in-road lighting, special emphasis markings, alternative of colored MMA markings, stop bars, and stop for pedestrian signage.
